As soon as it became clear that Obama-Biden had a clear shot at winning the election, the economy tanked. The "Big Boys" knew their eight year jig was up. Period. So they arranged for a public relations scam to grab the rest of whatever loose change they thought there was. Period. If you think the "Big Boys" cannot just arrange this, you are truely naive. Obama-Biden will be far from perfect, but I'll never forget that it was a diehard Republican who got up in the middle of financial meeting and said, "We are human, so whatever we do will not be perfect, so we shouldn't do anything!" ( The board was considering an issue that was anathema to his concepts after his concepts had totally failed and nearly bankrupted the mission of the organization.) The "going out" Republicans are just guaranteeing that Obama-Biden will have a really tough time ironing out the mess Bush-Cheney have gotten us into, but it is far better to try something than just "do nothing" or "do the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome". McCain is "the same thing over and over". Period. And, by the way, if all this really has you down, think about this: when an animal has been caged for a long period of time, if you open the door to its cage to let it loose, DON'T GET IN ITS WAY as it darts for freedom. When America is finally free of Bush-Cheney, expect a resurgence. The banks will fight it, the Republicans will fight it, the ultra-conservatives will fight it. But they will get mown down like the grass in front of a power-mower. "YES WE CAN" has a lot more force behind it than just being a campaign slogan. America has been told "we can't" for eight years. But Americans KNOW we CAN. We were just held back by the most incompetent administration in more than a hundred years (we had to wait for apertifs during Katrina, remember?).
